Meditation is Medicine

If you like me, you have experienced and had challenges with mental health, anxiety depression and PTSD then you would recognise the feeling of overwhelm.

The feeling of your stress response igniting.

The feeling of being triggered at every turn.

The feeling of fight, flight, freeze or faun.

These feelings stem from the nervous system.

It can feel suffocating.

It can feel like you’re drowning.

It can feel like the emotions are just all too much.

This is the body communicating

Communicating the need for rest and digest.

This is the body trying to create space and energy to regulate the nervous system.

Without support the body struggles to digests the density and the trauma in our cells that are ignited during a stress response.

There are many ways we can support our nervous system and mediation is one of them.

It has been one of the biggest reminders as I take radical responsibility for my life and my mental health.

Meditation creates a space and opportunity to bring the body into stillness and relaxation.

The cultivation of this relaxation allows the body to drop into the parasympathetic nervous system, to repair and create energy in the body to be used later to regulate this response.

When we have the space to regulate we are then able to be more present in life.

When we are present we are able to respond to circumstances rather than react.

When we are in response to life, we find more ease and flow.

We experience less resistance

We no longer find ourselves trying to escape our mental world.

It begins to feel safe and spacious in the quiet of our mind.

A space of reflection and exploration ✨

It becomes a channel for creation.

This sacred space of meditation that we create becomes medicine.

Medicine that we get to receive from ourselves and our inner world.

This space is where we integrate the spirit and the mind into the body.

This space is where we begin to master our mind and our lives.

It is a space where we return to wholeness.

Meditation creates clear perception

It allows everything false to fall away and what is left is our reality.

You can meditate with me here on insight timer 👇🏻👇🏻

For those of you inspired to create change by taking radical responsibility through your rituals each day I will continue to share this work here on my blog and through my email list.

The energy has not been lighting me up to share it on social media but I feel the importance of each thread of light in the rituals, so I will keep pouring into the creation by developing a resource to support change.

I invite you to create a meditation practice to support you in taking radical responsibility for your life and please share with me on social media your experiences and questions.

All my love

Erin Frances xx
